April 7 Meeting Notes
Points of Order
1. Big thanks to Bound Candeee and Topo for covering for Naur's slack.
2. Phyzen has been removed from guild. He was recently recruited but due to his drinking and verbal abuse he has been removed.
3. Primary Topic for Discussion - Guild Raiding Progression and otherwise.
- We have been dwindling numbers for raid attendence this expansion related at least partially to the fact that the games requirement for heroic and raid was greatly increased. The set back has put us many months behind schedule for where we like to be for raiding and left us unable to progress for a long time. Recruitment has been attempted but I'll admit to not being the best at recruiting, and feels like it's a harder pool to pull from than it used to be.
I have concerns about the raid force continueing with summer looming and the possible further loss of numbers due to real life adventures and concerns everyone has. I poised the ideas of possible seeking Raid alliances and the dangers involved with relying or joining other raid forces. Such as possible benching of many of our own, or possible conversion over to another guild. Which possibley seeking a merger was also brought up. At this point I opened the floor up to others, it was suggested that I appoint some other folks to handle recruitment to get some fresh eyes and hands on it that could be on different time and try. Another suggestion was possibley opening up our normal sunday raid up to pugs after we filled, which would require us to swap off our normal DKP system for pug based raiding. And another thing that was brought up was swapping off Wednesdays as a raid day since Wednesdays have been fairly dead for attendence and the reason of having a reset day mid week is less viable since the lock out timer on raid zones is much longer. It used to be we could reset the zones midweek and hit the same bosses if we wanted to, now we're restricted to resetting zones each week and that is it.
The current expectations going foward is Verraten and Defi have both taken on assisting with recruiting and I have given them tools to do so. We will begin next sunday with spending a little bit of time after our normal form up we'll give an extra 10-15 minutes for pug raiders to join from general chat, but after that we will need to get rolling as we will be eating into our own raid time. We will be using the old x2 loot systems where instead of doing DKP we will keep track of who won loot vs /roll and if you won previously on that raid you will be forced to pass for the next highest person who has not also won and it will be basically always favor someone who has won the least loot for that night.
Also we are starting a straw poll for what is a viable second raid night of the week for regular attendance.
The poll can be found here. Please note you can check multiple days but once you vote you will not be able to change it. http://www.strawpoll.me/17765335
I am still open to other ideas and input on how to approach the difficulties we face. And I love you guys like family, thanks for sticking with us.
